During the 16th graduation ceremony at INES-Ruhengeri, held on October 24, a total of 18 graduates were recognized with prestigious awards for their outstanding achievements across various fields of study.
These 18 exemplary students were selected from the graduating group of 892.
Among the awardees, 10 received laptops as a mark of their excellence, with two exceptional graduates honored further with a cash prize of one million Rwandan francs each, designated as the top performers.
In addition to the laptops and cash prizes, some graduates were presented with employment and internship opportunities.
WASAC Group extended two full-time job offers and five internships to selected awardees, while the Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council (RAHPC) granted three graduates complimentary license examination vouchers.
Furthermore, Satguru Travels provided a professional internship, and more opportunities are anticipated as one of the sponsors plans to offer additional internships based on upcoming interview selections.
To capture the excitement of these high achievers, ICK News interviewed some of them, who expressed deep gratitude to INES-Ruhengeri for the support and opportunities that have enriched their educational journeys.

Among the honorees was Ruzigana Josue, a pioneering graduate of INES-Ruhengeri’s Water Engineering program, who received a laptop and a job offer from the Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC).
“I am honored to be part of the inaugural class of Water Engineering graduates,” Ruzigana said. “Joining WASAC allows me to tackle water management challenges, and this award will enhance my work efficiency as I explore advanced solutions.”
Marie Joyeuse Ihimbazwe, a Civil Engineering graduate, shared what helped her achieve top performance, crediting INES-Ruhengeri’s blend of theoretical and practical learning.

“INES-Ruhengeri offers us more than textbook knowledge; the hands-on experiences through labs, field visits, and internships make us competitive,” she noted. “My passion for Civil Engineering and dedication to my studies helped me become the top student.”

Biomedical Laboratory Sciences student Bruno Niyonkuru Rugira also expressed his gratitude. “Receiving the best performance award is humbling and motivating,” he shared. “Through the support of my family, lecturers, and INES, I’ve gained skills that prepare me for the challenges ahead.”
With over 11,000 national and international alumni across 22 bachelor’s and 11 master’s programs, INES-Ruhengeri continues to contribute skilled professionals to the labor market, impacting Rwanda’s growth and innovation.
