Wednesday, April 17th, the Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) has proudly announced the appointment of Lawrence Mahatlane as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Senior Team.
Hailing from South Africa, Mahatlane has lots of experience coaching young teams in Uganda and South Africa U 19 teams.
Renowned for his exceptional leadership and strategic prowess, setting a strong foundation for success.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Mahatlane stated, “I am honored and excited to join the Rwanda Cricket

Association as the Head Coach of the Men’s Senior Team. I am committed to building upon the solid groundwork laid by the RCA and look forward to not only creating a successful team but also a sustainable system that will ensure long-term success.”
Stephen Musaale, President of RCA, expressed his gratitude for Mahatlane’s appointment, highlighting his proven abilities and passion for cricket development.

Musaale believes Mahatlane’s leadership will lead the Men’s Senior Team to new levels of competition. “His proven track record and passion for cricket development make him the ideal candidate to lead our Men’s Senior Team to new heights. We look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly have on our players and the cricketing community as a whole.”
Mahatlane’s appointment comes after the departure of British coach Lee Booth, who held the responsibilities for the past six months since his appointment in June 2023 on a six-month contract.
