In just a few days, the renowned Christus Regnat Choir will once again serenade its audience in the highly anticipated annual concert ‘Ibweranganzo 2024.’
This much-awaited event is scheduled for November 3, 2024, and will take place at Lemigo Hotel.
This marks the second edition of the concert, where Christus Regnat Choir will deliver an exceptional musical experience, delighting attendees with a diverse selection of songs performed in multiple languages. The concert promises to fill the hearts and souls of the audience with joy and spiritual upliftment.
Speaking to Mr. Jeremie Bizimana, the Vice President of Christus Regnat Choir in charge of technical affairs, he highlighted the unique aspects of this year’s concert, which has been in preparation for over six months.
“Each year, we bring something new, but everything aligns with the overall goal of the concert: to help people praise God and awaken both spiritual and physical joy,” said Bizimana.
This year’s ‘Ibweranganzo’ concert has an additional purpose: to raise funds for providing lunch to students from low-income families.
Mr. Bizimana explained, “We hold our rehearsals at a school, and we noticed that some students struggle to afford lunch. This led us to think about the contribution we could make by ensuring that children from different backgrounds receive a daily meal.”
Musical Diversity and Cultural Richness
As with previous editions, the ‘Ibweranganzo’ concert will feature a wide range of songs rooted in Rwandan and African traditions, but composed using classical music scores.

“The concert will include classical music performances, but those who enjoy traditional Rwandan or African rhythms won’t be left out,” Bizimana added.
He emphasized that traditional songs would be performed with enhanced musical expertise, bringing a fresh perspective to the cultural tunes.
This mix of musical styles, alongside other surprises in store for the audience, is what drives Bizimana to encourage music lovers, particularly those with a taste for well-orchestrated performances, to attend in large numbers.

Over the years, Christus Regnat Choir has gained a solid reputation for delivering songs that praise God, celebrate culture, and explore various themes.
Some of their notable renditions include Mama Shenge, featuring Yverry Rugamba and Andy Bumuntu, Umukozi w’Umuhanga, Duhakirwe, Ca Akabogi, and others, many of which are covers of classic songs by legendary figures like Cyprien Rugamba.
