With just five days remaining until the Miss Universe 2024 finale in Mexico City, excitement is building among the 130 contestants, each working hard to secure the crown for her home country.
Among them is Kenza Johanna Ameloot, Miss Belgium 2024, who proudly embraces her Rwandan heritage.
In a recent interview with ICK News, The Miss Belgium 2024 contestant urged Rwandans to support her in the competition by engaging with her social media posts, voting, and informing others.
“Rwandan people can help by supporting me online, sharing posts, voting, doing everything they can to help me go far,” she emphasized.
Ameloot shared that her participation in Miss Universe goes beyond personal achievement and representing Belgium.
She is also using the platform to raise awareness for a greater cause. “I want to thank everyone supporting me, as you are doing it for a greater cause. I’m not doing this for myself, but for my charity work,” she explained.

Ameloot, who visited Rwanda in September 2024, is dedicated to funding cataract surgeries for thousands of Rwandan children, as cataracts can lead to blindness.
Her goal is to raise a fund that can be used for over 100,000 cataract surgeries for babies in Rwanda by 2030.
“Going far in Miss Universe is the perfect way to get more funds, raise awareness, and find ways to achieve this goal,” she said.
The 73rd Miss Universe 2024 is set to be the largest in the pageant’s history, with a record number of contestants. Last year’s crown was claimed by Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, a Central American country.
