On March 3, 2025, the Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (ICK) and Lucerna Kabgayi Hotel formalized a partnership aimed at promoting the hotel’s services through ICK’s ICK News publication.
The agreement was signed by Father Prof. Fidele Dushimimana, the Vice Chancellor of ICK, and Father Jean Paul Ndikuryayo, the managing director of three-star Lucerna Kabgayi Hotel.

The partnership will focus on increasing visibility for Lucerna Kabgayi Hotel by leveraging ICK News to publicize the hotel’s offerings, including accommodation, dining, conference facilities, and other services within the hospitality and tourism sector.
Father Ndikuryayo expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting it was a significant step forward for both institutions.
“We are thrilled with this partnership and proud to work with professionals who apply their skills to achieve results. This collaboration will bring tangible benefits to both parties, especially in attracting more customers to the hotel,” he said.

He further explained the rationale behind choosing ICK News for the partnership, highlighting its role in promoting the hotel’s services, “ICK News has promised to assist us in promoting all these activities,” Father Ndikuryayo added.
Father Ndikuryayo says that the partnership would be also beneficial for ICK’s students. “As a university, ICK will also gain from this collaboration, especially because students, particularly those studying journalism, will benefit from the opportunity to write stories, report, and gain more practical knowledge in the field.”
He added, “The fact that ICK News journalists are already well-regarded at the national level, thanks to the knowledge they have acquired at this university, will allow them to use their expertise to help increase the visibility of this new hotel, thereby ensuring its success and productivity.”

Father Prof. Fidèle Dushimimana, Vice Chancellor of ICK, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership in strengthening ICK’s ties with both local and international institutions.
“This agreement is part of ICK’s broader effort to collaborate with various organizations, contributing to the university’s growth and visibility,” he explained. “Through this partnership, our students will engage in professional journalism practices, helping them develop the skills necessary for their careers.”
The one-year agreement is set to be renewed if the collaboration proves successful.
Lucerna Kabgayi Hotel, a new hotel owned by the Diocese of Kabgayi, is situated in Muhanga City and aims to enhance hospitality services in the region, which serves as the second city to Kigali.
