As the curtain falls on another year, President Paul Kagame has delivered a stirring end-of-year message, reflecting on the achievements and sacrifices of Rwanda’s Defence and Security Forces.
Addressing the officers, men, and women who embody the nation’s resilience and strength, President Kagame’s words resonate with gratitude, pride, and an unwavering call to uphold Rwanda’s values and vision.
Celebrating Milestones of National and Global Impact
In a year marked by significant milestones, Rwanda celebrated 30 years since liberation and 20 years of active participation in global peacekeeping operations.

These anniversaries underscore the nation’s journey of transformation from adversity to a beacon of peace and progress.
President Kagame highlighted the dual role of Rwanda’s Defence and Security Forces in safeguarding the nation and contributing to international security.
“These achievements reflect our commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Rwanda while contributing to global security,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of their efforts on both domestic and international fronts.
In his message, the President lauded the dedication, discipline, and professionalism exhibited by the armed forces.
Their steadfastness has ensured that Rwanda remains a pillar of stability in the region despite facing numerous challenges.
“Your role in promoting Rwanda’s national interests and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our citizens is invaluable,” he noted, commending their patriotism, teamwork, and innovative approaches to modern security challenges.
These qualities, President Kagame affirmed, have fortified Rwanda’s position as a symbol of resilience and progress.
President Kagame extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
Acknowledging their sacrifices, he assured them that the nation stands with them.
“To the mourning families, I honour your sacrifice and assure you that we will always stand by your side and that the sacrifices shall never be in vain,” he said.
As Rwanda steps into a new year, the President urged the forces to maintain their momentum and uphold the principles of integrity and accountability.
Stressing the importance of vigilance and adaptability, he called on the forces to continue striving toward the shared vision of a secure, prosperous, and united Rwanda.
Concluding his address, President Kagame extended warm wishes for the festive season and the year ahead. “On behalf of the Rwandan people, the government, and my own family, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families for a joyful festive season and a successful year ahead. May you continue to serve with honour and may your sacrifices always be recognised and rewarded.”
