President Kagame’s Call to Youth: Shape Rwanda

President Paul Kagame, speaking at Rwanda’s 30th liberation anniversary at Amahoro Stadium on July 4th, highlighted the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation’s future through three essential civic values.

In his remarks, President Kagame turned his attention to the youth, acknowledged the progress made over the past 30 years and urged the younger generation to stay vigilant and take an active role in shaping Rwanda’s future.

“This country is yours to protect, defend, and make prosperous,” he said. “You have the freedom and opportunity to live the life you want, but wherever life takes you, remember to uphold the good politics we have built. Speak up, take part, and give back. These are the civic values we want to define the next generation of Rwanda.”

He also spoke to the youth about the sacrifices made by previous generations to initiate the journey of liberation and reminded them that the country is counting on them.

“Thirty years ago, we began the liberation journey. We are counting on you to take the country further, to help us live well and succeed by stopping poverty, dependency, and indignity, he said”.

To achieve that, President assures Rwandans that the whole country is at peace and will remain at no matter what.

According to recent statistics carried by National Institute of Statistics Rwanda (NISR), nearly about 78 percent are below 35 years of age   . This demographic is a reminder of the significant responsibility youths bears in continuing the country’s progress to development.
