Insights from ICK Students Abroad

For the first time in ICK’s history, students had the opportunity to vote online. This innovative approach enabled even those studying abroad to participate in the electoral process.

Obed Muhire, a third-year Journalism student currently studying in the Netherlands, was among those who cast their votes online. Reflecting on this initiative, he shared:
“This is a very important step as it allows students abroad to have a voice. It’s something that should definitely be continued in the future.”

Obed also highlighted his expectations for the newly elected Guild Committee, emphasizing key areas that need attention:
“When I joined the committee, there were many challenges, especially with academic systems like accessing marks and the e-learning platform. The new committee must prioritize addressing these academic issues, ensure effective communication, and remain approachable to all students.”

From the perspective of ICK officials, Jeanne Uwineza, the Dean of Students, congratulated the new committee and called for collaboration.
“We want them to be approachable and work closely with students to achieve greater success,” she said.
