On January 13, 2025, the Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (ICK) warmly welcomed its new cohort of students enrolled in various programs offered at the institution.
The students were received by ICK staff members, including Jeanne Uwineza, the Dean of Students, who expressed her gratitude to the new students for choosing ICK among all the universities in Rwanda.
“At ICK, academics come first,” she emphasized. “Here, you earn the grades you work for.”
She assured the students that the institution is fully committed to supporting them throughout their academic journey, addressing any needs that may arise to ensure a smooth learning experience.

Uwineza also touched on student life outside the classroom, highlighting the institution’s efforts to assist students with accommodation.
“We are always here to guide students and help them resolve any issues they may encounter with the accommodation,” she said.
Pierre Kanangire, the Guild President of the Association Générale des Étudiants (AGE-ICK) , shared his commitment to helping new students adapt to life at ICK.
“We’ve been assisting the new students in settling in by showing them around the campus, guiding them through the English placement tests, teaching them how to pay tuition fees through digital platforms, and more. We are ready to continue supporting them,” he said.

Some of the newly admitted students expressed their excitement about joining ICK, calling it a dream come true.

Frederick Kwizera, who has enrolled in the Public Relations Department, said, “I’ve always dreamed of studying at ICK. For a long time, I wished to join this institution, and today, I’m finally here, experiencing its greatness.”

Alice Muhoracyeye, a student in the Education Faculty, also shared her positive first impression. “I was impressed by the way we were received, which exceeded my expectations. I thought we would have no one to guide us, but there were people ready to help us find our way, starting with the room where we were welcomed.”
The new students were enrolled in various faculties, including Journalism and Communication Studies, Education, Social, Economic Sciences and Business Management.
