RPF Youth League in Muhanga unite to support vulnerable families

The Youth League of RPF-Inkotanyi in Muhanga District on Sunday, November 23, 2025, led a series of community-driven activities aimed at empowering young people and improving the welfare of vulnerable families.

The activities began in Kiyumba Sector, where youth members took part in constructing houses for vulnerable residents, a move officials said contributes to enhancing social welfare and strengthening solidarity within communities.

Following the community work, the youth delegation visited Nyabikenke District Hospital in the Ndiza region. They toured various departments to observe service delivery and interacted with medical staff and patients to better understand the health services being provided.

The day also featured a friendly football match between youth teams from Rongi and Kiyumba sectors. Organizers said the match was designed to promote unity, teamwork, and talent development among young people.

In addition to sports, the gathering provided a platform for health education. Young people were sensitized on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including syphilis and HIV/AIDS, and warned about the negative impacts of drug abuse on their well-being and future.

“The government has done so much for us,” said Munezero. “We must protect the achievements made.”
“We all have a role in building a better Rwanda,” added Ingabire.

Didier Cédric Twagirimana, Coordinator of the FPR-Inkotanyi Youth League in Muhanga, emphasized the need to continue addressing challenges affecting young people, particularly teenage pregnancies.

“Teenage pregnancies remain a serious concern,” he said. “We urge our youth to make responsible decisions and to support one another in overcoming challenges.”

Elaste Gakwerere, Executive Secretary of Kiyumba Sector, commended the youth for their active participation in nation-building, noting that they remain a key pillar in sustaining Rwanda’s development progress.

“The youth are a cornerstone of Rwanda’s progress,” he said. “Your energy, ideas, and patriotism are vital to sustaining what our country has achieved.”
