Today, April 19, three out of seven Journalism students from Institut Catholique de Kabgayi (ICK) have achieved success in the English test, earning them the opportunity to embark on a five-month academic journey at Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (CHE University) in the Netherlands.

This accomplishment is a result of the collaborative efforts between ICK and CHE University, supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program.

These students will delve into a new cultural environment while broadening their knowledge in journalism and communication during their five-month stay in the Netherlands, starting from September 2024.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Adolphe Mpirwa remarked, “I am thrilled to have been selected for this incredible opportunity to further my studies in the Netherlands. I am looking forward to learning from international experts in journalism and communication and gaining a global perspective on the industry.”

Japhet Sibomana echoed this sentiment, stating, “Studying in the Netherlands will be a unique experience that will help me grow both personally and professionally. I am grateful for this opportunity and eager to make the most of it.”

Father Dr. Prudence Bicamumpaka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics and Research at ICK, commended the three successful students for their dedication and hard work. He emphasized the importance of such experiences in shaping students’ personal and professional growth.

“These students have shown great promise in the field of journalism and communication studies, and I have no doubt that they will excel during their academic stay in the Netherlands. It’s important for them because they are going to gain new experiences, meet new people of different cultures,” said Father Dr. Bicamumpaka.

Obed Muhire took the lead by scoring 87.7 points first
